When I received a Lamy Joy fountain pen as a birthday gift from my friend Ben, I couldn’t stop writing with it. Just for fun I wrote the word Dribbble again and again, trying to figure out a way for the multiple ascenders to work nicely with one another. Remembering the work of Spanish penmen which I researched during a past project, I came up with an interwoven pattern that I thought would add a playful texture to the final lettering.

Admittedly I didn’t know much about Dribbble when Jonathan Hoefler first suggested I join. I thought it was just another business networking site among many which I had successfully managed to avoid. However, I soon found Dribbble to be a convenient way to share sneak peeks at work in progress, in addition to being a great way to meet talented folks.
