Mind Your p’s and q’s…and O’s
Laura Vozzella, columnist at the Baltimore Sun, contacted me the other day to get my thoughts about this secondary mark for the Orioles. Introduced in 2005, the logo features an open quote in place of an apostrophe that obviously eluded the eyes of art directors, focus groups and franchise management for nearly half a decade. Positioning aside, one could argue whether an apostrophe is necessary or even proper. Anyway, the column will run this Wednesday—a must read for any sports fans-cum-grammarians out there.
